COMING TO COURT

The courthouse will open 15 minutes before the start of the first court session, which is 09:30 a.m.  Please be on time, so you can hear the judge and clerk's announcement and instructions.

If you receive a citation and have questions concerning point violations, please contact the Department of Drivers Services website or contact their office at 678-413-8400.

If you receive a citation and you are under 21 years of age, please have a parent accompany you to court.  Your plea could
result in the suspension of your driver's license or may impact your parent's insurance.
If you are 25 years old or younger, the solicitor may offer an Alive @ 25 course.  You will be reset to a new court date to bring back the Alive @ 25 certificate.  You will not receive more time than originally stated by the solicitor.  Please make arrangements for the class as soon as possible, in order to have course completed on time.  Please bring form printed out.  The solicitor or judge will not look at images on your phone or allow it to be printed in court.

If you are 16 years or younger, this court does not have jurisdiction to prosecute you.  Your case will be transferred to the DeKalb Co Juvenile Court.  Please make sure your address, DOB and phone number are correct, that you gave to the officer.  This is the information that the DeKalb Co. Juvenile Court will use to send you a notice for a court appearance.  Please note that this process may take 30 days or more.  If you have any questions regarding the new court date, please contact the DeKalb County Juvenile Court at 4309 Memorial Drive, Decatur, GA 30032, or you may call (404)294-2700.
