Earlier this month, Council Member Gerald Evans was unanimously elected Mayor pro-tem. Mayor pro-tem is a position responsible for filling in for the mayor temporarily in certain circumstances when the mayor is unavailable.
Speaking on his election to Mayor pro-tem, Council Member Evans had this to say: “I am humbled by this vote of confidence by my fellow Council Members. The position of Mayor pro-tem is an honor and privilege.”
Council Member Evans, a Realtor, has been a Doraville resident since 2006. In that time, he has served on the board of his neighborhood Homeowner’s Association, served on the Doraville Planning Commission, and worked with numerous organizations like the Atlanta Relators Association. He is a committed advocate for homeowners and fights for the rights of private property owners.
