Looking to get moving otherwise? Doraville Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs has your back. We have a lot of new activities starting soon! You can register for all of these and more at https://doraville.recdesk.com/Community/Home.
- Start Smart: Ages 3-7; Introductory level; no games; strictly skill-building sessions for younger kids interested in getting into sports. $40 dollar fee covers all they will need to participate; this will be a 6-9 week program.
- Spring Sports Clinics: these are free but all participants must register prior to the clinic in order to participate. Registration is now open. Spring Clinics will tie into the league season schedule, however, you must register separately to participate in both the spring clinic and youth league concurrently. The Spring Clinics will be held the week of spring break from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm on the following dates: Tuesday, April 5th, Thursday, April 7th, and Saturday, April 9th. We will have bats and gloves available for participants who do not have them, however, this equipment must be returned at the end of the clinic and are not to be kept by the participants. We want to ensure that participants without the needed equipment are still able to participate.
- Youth Baseball: consists of 3 different coed age groups (8U, 10U, and 12U). Each age group will have 6 games in this recreational league. Opening day is April 16th and practices will start the same week. If you want to get some extra practice in first, be sure to join us for the spring clinics. The 8U league will be different from the others: it's considered a "coach pitch" league, which means a coach pitches the ball. The 10U and 12U are "kid pitch." Participants will receive a hat, jersey, and trophy for registering.
- Couch 2 5K: registration has officially opened! This will be a 9-week program beginning Feb 22nd. The program will run Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 8 am- 9 am. Participants will also have the option to participate in the program virtually or a combination of in-person and virtual. The cost to participate is $25.00. Upon completion of 95% of the program, participants will receive a finishers medal and t-shirt as recognition of their accomplishment.
