Rezoning the Buford Highway Corridor

In order to implement the vision for the transformation of Buford Highway as outlined in the Comprehensive Plan and The BuHi LCI Study, the City of Doraville is proposing to rezone the remainder of the Buford Highway Corridor from the existing, predominately commercial-only districts into the Livable Community Code (LCC) Districts which allows mixed-use developments with new multi-family residential uses.

This form-based code with urban design standards will continue to champion the diversity of businesses along Buford Highway, while also encouraging redevelopment for a more walkable, pedestrian-friendly built environment that will enhance Buford Highway’s existing diverse character, culture and experience.

Public meetings were held Tuesday, August 18 and Thursday, August 20. See below for upcoming public meeting opportunities:

  • Planning Commission: Wednesday, October 7
  • City Council: Wednesday, October 21
