County Update on Coronavirus

As Georgia’s first cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have been confirmed, DeKalb County’s top doctor wants to make it clear that public health officials are ready to respond, if and when the virus surfaces in the county.

“The two cases identified in Fulton County are travel-related exposures, not community spread,” said Dr. S. Elizabeth Ford, DeKalb County district health director. “While I realize that everyone is greatly concerned about the rapid spread of the virus in several parts of the world, the actions that you would take to prevent the spread of any respiratory disease are the very same for COVID-19.”
