National Night Out will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Farmers Market, 5600 Buford Highway.
National Night Out is an annual campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie with the goal of making neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. The event enhances the relationship between residents and law enforcement while emphasizing a sense of community.
National Night Out will include activities for children and adults. Doraville Police and the DeKalb County Fire Department will bring some of the equipment they use to keep the community safe. Other agencies scheduled to attend include the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Attorney's Office, Georgia State Patrol and DeKalb County Solicitor-General's Office.
