Assembly

HistoryThe Assembly property was formerly occupied by the General Motors plant, which closed in 2008.  The property was subsequently acquired by Integral Group for redevelopment into a mixed-use development.  Integral began infrastructure improvements and utility relocation. Portions of the Assembly master development have been redeveloped with a film studio, corporate headquarters, and automobile dealerships.

Rezoning

In March 2021, it was announced that the longtime developers at Integral were selling the Assembly Yards site to Pearl Railroad Assembly Yard (PRAY) LLC. PRAY LLC is an affiliate of Brookhaven-based Gray Television. The Gipson Company is a partner in the purchase and will be the primary developer for the project.
