The Doraville Library, an affiliate branch of the DeKalb County Library System, is a 10,000 square foot facility with 27,000 volumes.  The branch first opened as the North DeKalb Library in 1953.  In 1970, the City built the current building and the name was changed to the Doraville Library.  The building was expanded in 1979.  The Doraville Library offers a wide selection of books, audiovisual materials and services.
The library has resumed regular hours!  We are open at the following times:

Monday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Tuesday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Friday: Closed
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Our Events

June 7th - Tell your Tale!
Write your own tale. Every child will be able to participate in The Doraville Library's Tell Your Tale Creative Story Contest. Use the provided materials (journal, crayons, & pencil) to write and illustrate your own story. Don't forget to give your story a title and decorate the front and back covers of the journal. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prizes will be awarded to the most creative stories. To be entered into the contest make sure to include your Name, Phone Number, and Age on the inside of the back cover. Your stories must be returned to The Doraville Library by July 31.

June 12th -Virtual Escape Room
Always wanted to visit an escape room? Well why not try to escape from the comfort and safety of your own home. Join us virtually June 12th for an awesome escape room. The link to the escape room will be posted on our Facebook page on Saturday June 12. The Escape Room will be available all day. 

June 21st - Design your own Rubik's Cube!
Color the cube sections, twist it up, and then try to solve the puzzle! Create your own unique design or make each side of the cube a solid color like the 3D puzzle phenomenon, the Rubik's cube.

June 26th- Scavenger Hunt
Are you good at finding lost things? Come to The Doraville Library to help locate some lost animals. Seeral silhouettes of animals from your favorite books have been scattered throughout the library. They need your help to be returned to their book. Pick up a scavenger hunt sheet from the circulation desk and START SEARCHING! Turn in your completed sheet and win a prize!

July 12th - Weaving Loom
This kit includes everything you need to create projects using a weaving loom and loops! Just use the weaving hook, the easy-to-follow instructions and the multiple loops to create beautiful crafts like you've never seen before.
July 26th - Painting Kits
Remember how much fun you had with our last painting kit? Well, we are back for round 2. Stop by the library and pick up a painting kit that includes everything you need to paint a beautiful creation! Your child can choose between the fish or seahorse painting.

Friends of the Doraville Library:Friends of the Doraville Library, a volunteer organization that supports library programs, materials and improvements, will hold an open house and membership drive from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the library, 3748 Central Avenue. Light refreshments will be served. 

The Doraville branch is the only library in the DeKalb County system that owns its building and pays its staff from City funds. Annual membership in Friends of the Doraville Library is $5 for an individual and $10 for a family. The group's primary fundraiser is its October book sale, which brought in several hundred dollars in 2019.
