Digging for Your Roots (Part Three)

Bonita Hoffmeister will present the third part of a three-part series on genealogy research and family tree construction. Part three will cover insights on researching vital statistics. Hands-on computer time will be included. Attendance at previous sessions is required. 

 

Youth Basketball Workouts

Holiday Wreath Making Class

Wednesday, November 18, 1:30pm – 3:30pm – Library

DeKalb County Extension is offering another unique and practical workshop. Learn how to make beautiful and festive holiday arrangements from Master Gardner, Wilma Coney. Wilma will show you how to make wreaths, garlands and other holiday using natural material found around your home.  Call the library at 770-936-3852 or stop by to reserve your place. Chocolate Making Class

Saturday, November 21, 12:00pm – 1:30pm – Library

Back by popular demand! Sari McIntyre, of Sari’s Flair, will present a 90-minute chocolate making class at the Doraville Library. This free class includes everything needed to make delicious chocolates that you can take home with you! Registration is required. Space is limited to 12. 

 

Medicare Part D Workshop

Wednesday, December 2, 10:00am – 12:00pm – LibraryMedicare representatives will be offering one-on-one counseling and plan comparisons during the Medicare Part D Annual Enrollment Period. If you are currently on Medicare, please bring your card and a list of your current prescriptions. Medicare representatives will be able to help you compare plans for 2010.

Weekly Programs

ESL Classes

Every Monday, 6:00pm – 7:30pm - Library

Moo Duk Kwan

Mondays & Thursdays, 5:00 - 8:15pm - Fleming Arena

Low Impact Aerobics

Tuesdays & Fridays, 8:30 - 9:30am - Fleming Arena

The aerobics class is $21 per month (or $4 per class). The class is free for individuals age 50 and older. For registration or general information, contact course instructor Diane Hutchison at (770) 936-3850.  

 

Story Time & Pre-School Story Time

Every Tuesday and Wednesday - Library

Story Time (ages 5-9) is held every Tuesday from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Our evening Story Time is a fun-filled hour of stories, songs, games, crafts and more. Held every Wednesday from 10:30am – 11:30am, Pre-school Story Time (ages 2-5) is a 40-minute program of nursery rhymes, stories, songs, games, flannel boards and easy crafts. 

Arts & Crafts Classes

Every Wednesday, 4:00pm – 8:00pm – Fleming Arena

Classes for children (ages 7-14) are held 4:00 pm – 6:00pm while the adult (15+) class is taught from 6 – 8:00pm. The cost for the six week course for is $5 per session (supplies not included) for children and $10 for adults. Gymnastics

Every Friday, 3:45 - 4:45pm - Fleming Arena

At a cost of $36, the course lasts for 6 weeks and intervals continue throughout the year. Gymnastics is open to both boys and girls ages 5 and up. Ballet & Tap

Every Friday, 4:45 - 5:45pm - Fleming Arena
