Sanitation and Recycling

The City’s sanitation service is provided by Advanced Disposal Services. Residents are billed $50 per quarter. Read about the new recycling service and the "Yard Waste to Green Waste" program.

Carts, bulk items, yard waste and recyclables need to be placed at the curb, ready for pick-up, by 7:00 am but no earlier than the evening before a scheduled pick-up (see schedule below). Empty carts should be removed from curbside the day of the pick-up. 

Please do not place trash or debris of any kind (1) on storm drains, (2) around mailboxes/fences/utility poles, etc. (3) under utility wires, or (4) where it will be obscured by vehicles.

Garbage is not picked up on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Modifications to the pick-up schedule depend on which day of the week the holidays occur. For more information, contact Assistant Clerk, Sandra Bryant at (770) 451-8745.

Household Waste
ADS furnishes 95 gallon and 65 gallon carts for household garbage only. ADS picks up household garbage once a week. Days vary depending on area of town (see table below).

Yard Waste
Yard Waste includes leaves, grass clippings and other pliable plant material. Yard waste should be placed in paper bags or cans - not in the ADS cart - and positioned on the curb next to the ADS cart (see table for schedule).

Bulk waste items include furniture, lumber, appliances, bikes, etc. Bulk items should also be placed next to the ADS cart. Limbs and bulk waste are picked up according to the schedule below. Please do not leave tires, paint cans or construction debris. If left they will not be picked up.

Accommodations
Side door service is available for disabled citizens who are physically unable to place their cart on the curb.
